ROLE SUMMARY

As a Senior Consultant you will play a key senior role with Thrive, Auckland. This role is an opportunity to work within a large Trans-Tasman communications agency tapping into your media, influencer and creative expertise. You will cross both consumer and corporate PR as a multichannel storyteller. You will partner with clients to help communicate strategic organisational narratives, aligned to business strategy, to build credibility and an understanding of an organisation. You will be purpose-driven and have a deep understanding of societal trends and movements to help organisations contribute to public discourse in a meaningful way. You are a natural-born storyteller with excellent media and talent relationships across New Zealand media.

About the Role:

  • Work across diverse and high profile local and global brands
  • Manage and develop multiple client projects and relationships - key day to day contact on allocated accounts
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Take advantage of the AU/NZ agency network to learn and grow with the best in the business
  • Craft comms strategies and build strong media relationships
  • Generate earned media coverage for clients
  • Stakeholder engagement and management
  • Participate in new business pitches
  • Drive best-in-class work for our clients
  • Daily operational management of client and team portfolio including: project management; scoping; budgeting
  • Team leadership focusing on line management

About You:

  • Tertiary qualified
  • 8+ years full time experience in PR agency &/or part in-house
  • Deep understanding, network and workings of New Zealand newsrooms
  • Exceptionally well connected in media, PR and business circles and continues to build your network in the industry, with media (traditional and new), general business colleagues, suppliers, influencers, industry colleagues and others
  • Experience leading and developing junior team members
  • Strategically minded, critical thinker, constantly curious and with a solutions-focused, positive attitude
  • Able to build strong and effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Someone who can roll up their sleeves and get stuff done
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities, with a calm demeanour and adaptability to manage the unexpected
  • Excellent presentation skills and 'expert level' attention to detail
  • Can build intimate knowledge of the industries in which clients operate
