Principal Advisor Marketing and Communications

We are seeking a highly experienced marketing and communications professional to join our Marketing and Communication team leading the marketing, advertising and communication plans, connected to the Marketing and Communications and Representative strategies.

The Principal Advisor Member Services will have strategic and operational leadership and delivery relating to memberships and representation, with a focus on membership benefits. The role will drive a communications-based approach to Member Services and consider what campaigns and business partnerships are needed.

Our ideal applicant will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in communications or a related field (preferable)
  • At least 10 years' experience in marketing and communications
  • Outstanding communication and relationship management skills
  • An understanding of tikanga and the ability to communicate in a culturally competent manner
  • Ability to develop, implement and maintain internal and external communication channels
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to, and collaborate with, people at all levels
  • Understanding of the legal environment and groups within the broad legal sector or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge
  • Understanding of the political, parliamentary, and legislative environment.

About the Law Society

The New Zealand Law Society Te Kāhui Ture o Aotearoa is the professional body for barristers and solicitors in New Zealand. The Law Society regulates all lawyers practising in New Zealand and is the membership organisation for practising lawyers. With 13 branches throughout the country, the Law Society is the Kaitiaki (guardian) of the practice of law in Aotearoa New Zealand and the consumers of legal services.
