Tauhara North No.2 Trust was founded on its whakapapa, whenua, and whānau connections. As kaitiaki for the whenua we have developed the geothermal resources with the whakataukī to hold fast to the land and make use of the land for the wellbeing of Ngā uri whakatipuranga. Since 1991 when the Trust was formed their investment diversification has grown to include farming, horticulture, geothermal energy and tourism.

The Business Analyst at Tauhara North No.2 Trust plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between stakeholders and the technical team, ensuring that business needs are effectively translated into actionable solutions. This position involves a combination of analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and communication expertise to support the organisation's objectives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough analysis of business processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborating with various departments to gather requirements and define project scope.
  • Facilitating workshops and meetings with stakeholders to elicit detailed business requirements.
  • Creating clear documentation including business requirement specifications, use cases, and process maps.
  • Assisting in the development of project plans and timelines to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Conducting market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic decisions.
  • Utilising data analysis techniques to provide insights that drive operational efficiency.
  • Supporting user acceptance testing (UAT) by developing test scenarios and scripts based on requirements.
  • Providing ongoing support and training to end-users on new systems or processes implemented.

This role requires a proactive approach, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse teams within the organisation. The Business Analyst will contribute significantly to the continuous improvement efforts at Tauhara North No.2 Trust by promoting best practices in data-driven decision-making and stakeholder engagement.

Required skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software Power BI (e.g. Excel)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear business terms
  • Experience with project management methodologies
  • Knowledge of business process modelling and improvement techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Required experiences
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a business analyst role or Management Accountant
  • Experience in requirements gathering and documentation for projects
  • Proven track record of delivering successful projects on time and within budget
  • Familiarity with stakeholder engagement and management practices
  • Experience working within an agile environment is preferred
  • A background in relevant industry sectors (e.g., finance, tourism, agriculture and geothermal) is advantageous
