Director, Product Management (Accountancy)

Salary: Salary Range for this full-time position is $150,000 - $180,000 + bonus + benefits. Compensation depends on a variety of job-related factors.

The Vacancy

We are seeking a Director of Product Management to develop and execute the vision and roadmap for IRIS Americas Accountancy products. This includes evaluating the market landscape, understanding customer needs, and prioritizing feature enhancements to increase product adoption and establish IRIS as a leader.

As an expert in creating clear and concise customer-oriented requirements and outcomes, you will own the translation of the product vision to development deliverables to ensure our objectives and key results are fully met.

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate experience in working closely with technical resources while solution and delivery are in motion. You will be responsible for ensuring the technical delivery meets business needs and for updating and communicating with business stakeholders.

You will be a specialist in Accountancy software, working with different areas of the business to identify requirements, scope, benefits, and desired outcomes for your areas of change.

You will also be competent in Agile Methodologies of product development, with a focus on innovation and positive disruption. You'll know how to get the best from data analytics through analysis and be experienced in bringing out the best in design, UI, and UX.

Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Product Vision & Roadmap:
  • Define Product Strategy: Establish a clear product vision and align it with company goals and market opportunities.
  • Roadmap Ownership: Develop and manage a detailed product roadmap that outlines priorities, key initiatives, and timelines.
  • Business Impact Analysis: Evaluate the business impact of new features and capabilities to ensure they contribute to strategic goals.
Deep Understanding of SaaS Business Models:
  • Subscription Models & Pricing Strategies: Experience with diverse SaaS pricing models (freemium, tiered, usage-based, etc.) and customer acquisition/retention strategies.
  • Metrics-Driven Decision Making: Proficiency in key SaaS KPIs, including ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue), LTV (Lifetime Value), CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost), and churn analysis.
  • Market and Customer Segmentation: Strong understanding of different SaaS market segments, personas, and buying behaviors.
Stakeholder Management & Cross-Functional Leadership:
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, UX, marketing, sales, and other internal teams to deliver on the product roadmap.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Regularly communicate product vision and updates to internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership and customers.
  • Conflict Resolution: Manage conflicting priorities and ensure alignment across different teams.
Data-Driven Product Management:
  • Data Analysis Skills: Ability to analyze data, build models, and use analytics tools to drive product decisions.
  • Outcome-Oriented Mindset: Focus on outcomes over outputs, ensuring each feature or product update delivers measurable value.
  • Experience in Agile Development: Deep understanding of Agile principles, Scrum, and Kanban. Experience in leading product sprints and backlog prioritization.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Proven experience managing the full lifecycle of SaaS products from ideation to launch and continuous improvement.
  • Technical Roadmap Prioritization: Balance technical debt, feature delivery, and product enhancements.
Customer and Market Insight:
  • Voice of the Customer (VoC): Act as the advocate for customer needs and incorporate feedback into product development.
  • Competitive Analysis: Conduct ongoing competitive research and industry trend analysis to identify gaps and opportunities.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Develop strong GTM strategies in collaboration with sales and marketing teams to drive adoption and growth.
Strong Communication Skills:
  • Storytelling: Ability to articulate complex ideas and product narratives in a clear and compelling manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Presentation Skills: Comfort with presenting to senior executives, cross-functional leaders, and key customers.

Experience:

  • Experienced product leader with a background in SaaS software deliverables. Proficiency in accountancy products would be an asset.
  • Excellent track record of translating and delivering clear, detailed requirements and supporting backlogs – experience ideally with Microsoft Azure DevOps.
  • Demonstrable experience of engaging with and putting the customer first.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and in leading high-performing teams.
  • Collaborative and flexible approach to agile software development, tools, and processes.
  • Disciplined management ability: caring about process, quality, and managing expectations.
  • Good planning and proactive in problem-solving.
  • Commercial and revenue awareness and understanding.
  • Demonstrable ability to embrace change and adapt to continuous improvement.
