Offer Description

The Faculty of Agribusiness and Commerce at Lincoln University seeks a dynamic academic to teach and research across our specialised agribusiness programmes.

This role involves contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, and industry engagement, with a focus on New Zealand and international food and fibre value chains. The successful candidate will also deliver courses in China through our Joint Institute partnership.

Some tasks of the role include:

  • Teaching agribusiness courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Conducting research in agribusiness and publishing in leading journals
  • Engaging with industry and professional bodies to enhance the Faculty's reputation
  • Supervising postgraduate students in agribusiness research
  • Contributing to curriculum development and academic programme delivery
  • Teaching in China for two 4-week blocks per year

Permanent role, 37.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE) at our Lincoln Campus.

Salary range as below:

  • Associate Professor: Grade A8, $134,060 - $145,881

You will have:

  • A PhD in agribusiness or a related field
  • Strong quantitative research skills and a track record of publications
  • Experience in teaching and student support at the university level
  • Knowledge of New Zealand agribusiness or the ability to develop expertise in this area
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills within academia and industry
  • Willingness to travel to China for teaching commitments
  • Alignment with Manaakitaka and Lincoln University values.
