About The Role

The role of HCA in the Dunedin Dialysis Unit is a good fit for someone who is positive, outgoing, flexible, and willing to work with long-term patients and can maintain therapeutic relationships.

Role

In this important role you will help with a range of direct and non-direct patient care tasks under the direction of a registered nurse and maintain the department environment to ensure efficient and effective functioning including:

  • Patient watch/ supervision and/or movement with one-on-one care
  • Checking Central Reverse Osmosis Unit (Water Treatment plant)
  • Storage and ordering
  • Restocking and setting up of dialysis equipment
  • General department housekeeping
  • Equipment cleaning
  • Supporting our nurses and other members of the healthcare team
  • Clerical duties as required
  • Stock reconciliation
  • You will need to be able to commit to rotating rostered shifts
  • Hours of work are Monday to Saturday 0700-1930

About You
  • Must hold working rights in New Zealand as this role does not qualify for visa sponsorship
  • Well organised, with a positive "can do" attitude and be able to communicate clearly and openly
  • Must be able to take direction from a variety of staff
  • Experience working with people from a health setting will be advantageous
  • Moderate level of fitness and agility is required.

Salary range

This role belongs to the NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between the step 1 ($60,100 p.a) and Step 5 ($70,358 p.a prorata) of the HCA scale.
