Tauranga, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand Ka Puta Ka Ora Emerge Aotearoa Full time

Emerge Aotearoa is a national provider of mental health, addiction, disability, offender rehabilitation, wellbeing, and housing services. We believe that everyone is capable of living full and rich lives in their communities of choice. In every aspect of our work, we are committed to helping whānau be the best they can be.

As a Mental Health Professional, you'll provide wrap-around support to Tangata Whaiora in a hands-on capacity in a service that has a whanau orientated framework. This is a varied role, and your day-to-day duties will depend on the number of Tangata Whaiora in the service. In this role, you will be integrating your clinical expertise, knowledge, and competencies alongside recovery approaches to provide quality services to Tangata Whaiora and their family/whānau.

You will support Tangata Whaiora to work towards their personal goals and aspirations by using evidence based clinical interventions, professional skills, coaching and supporting other team members.

We have a permanent full-time position, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Sunday based in Tauranga-moana.

This role offers a salary band ranging from $68,037.77 to $102,000.00. Placement within this band will be determined by the extent to which candidates meet or exceed the relevant qualifications and experience requirements.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  1. Establish rapport and maintain positive relationships with the clients and family/whanau.
  2. Provide clinical expertise within the service that both ensures and advocates for safe management and effective service provision to clients.
  3. Work in partnership with clients so that they set challenging goals and have a plan to achieve their goals.
  4. Assess and manage potential and actual client risks, ensuring appropriate documentation, reporting and communication.
  5. Oversee client documentation from entry through to exit, including Client Pathway assessments and Support Needs Assessments.
  6. Provide the information that clients require so that they are able to make informed choices.

We are looking for someone who is positive, flexible, vibrant, confident, and compassionate to work in our service. You'll also have an eye for spotting changes to behaviour and be able to respond appropriately to crisis situations.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Current full registration with a professional body covered by HPCA 2003 Act, Social Work Registration, or DAAPANZ.
  2. Preferably at least 2 years post qualifying experience within the Mental Health/AO sectors.
  3. The ability to demonstrate knowledge and experience with creating personalised plans is a must for this role.
  4. Demonstrated commitment to recovery values.
  5. Advanced communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
  7. A current full driver's licence.

Our team culture is very important to us. We build each other up, support one another and celebrate each other's success both personally and professionally. We love to have fun, drink coffee & laugh a lot - the conversation ranges from food and whānau, to travel and fitness.

In addition, we also offer:

  1. Learning, development, and training opportunities, inclusive of 5-10 paid study leave days.
  2. Great staff benefits, including store discounts, and 3 days of well-being leave.
  3. Discounted health insurance through Southern Cross Health.
