Job Description

The Welfare and Self-Reliance Department is seeking to appoint a Senior Education Analyst at the Pacific Area Office in Auckland, New Zealand. This is a permanent full-time position reporting to the Area Education Manager.

The Senior Education Analyst leads and oversees the administration of church education funds and initiatives. This role involves managing a team responsible for administering various education funds, including the Perpetual Education Fund (PEF), P13, and the Returned Missionary Scholarship (RMS). Additionally, this supervises the reporting of educational initiatives such as the Careers Initiative and Employment programs (ECM). The Senior Education Analyst also directs internal and external communication efforts to enhance awareness, engagement, and accessibility of educational opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising the Area Support Team.
  • Analysing data, interpreting key performance indicators, recommending improvements, and ensuring follow-through on initiatives.
  • Preparing monthly activity reports on Education Funding, Learning Centres, and Careers Pacific.
  • Overseeing and supporting internal (staff and missionary training) and external (area website content, presentations, awareness campaigns) communication efforts.
  • Developing training materials and resources for area education initiatives.
  • Supporting and implementing other initiatives as directed by the Area Education Manager or the Area Welfare and Self-Reliance Manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in business administration or a related field, and/or a minimum of five years of proven experience in mid-level management.
  • Strong data analytical skills and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • An understanding of education systems in the Pacific Area.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Proven leadership qualities including initiative, creativity, and spiritual maturity.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and conduct training and assessments.
  • Proficiency in technology and office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Understanding of Welfare/Self-Reliance principles and the ability to train individuals and groups in these concepts.
