About the Role
Provide leadership, guidance, reporting and active participation within the Connections Design Engineering team with the scope, design, price and planning of all Connections team works for delivery in accordance with Customer SLA, HSQE, design and quality requirements. Ensure all designs are fit for purpose and aligned to always processes and procedures.

  1. Lead and manage the Connections Design Engineering team to drive performance and ensure successful project delivery.
  2. Ensure all designs meet customer specifications, statutory regulations, and standards.
  3. Oversee the preparation of documentation and quality-check all designs.
  4. Maintain accurate records in Siebel and ensure timely updates.
  5. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, and local authorities.
  6. Work closely with the Connections Delivery Manager to align priorities and meet performance targets.
  7. Manage workloads to optimise team productivity while exceeding operational and customer expectations.
  8. Identify and implement business improvement opportunities related to safety, work practices, and efficiency.

About You:
Qualifications:

  1. B.E. Electrical or equivalent experience in a relevant sector.
  2. Electrical Diploma with a minimum of three years' experience.
  3. Full, NZ driver's license.
Experience & Skills:
  1. Electrical distribution design and pricing.
  2. Knowledge of substation switchgear, transformers, HV & LV infrastructure.
  3. Experience with overhead and underground services.
  4. Strong organisational and leadership skills to manage workload distribution and drive team performance.
  5. Ability to maintain high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Siebel.
  7. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  8. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and influence in a multicultural work environment.
