Operations Manager – Christchurch Adventure Park

Join the team at Christchurch Adventure Park — one of New Zealand's most unique outdoor adventure destinations.

We're looking for an Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of the Park. This is a hands-on, people-focused leadership role where you'll manage operational teams, ensure health & safety standards, and keep everything running smoothly — from our trails to our lifts.

You'll be a key leader within the team, working closely with the General Manager and other departments to deliver an exceptional guest experience while keeping our people safe and our park humming.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, you'll lead the Lift Operations, Patrol, Maintenance, and Trail teams to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality experiences for guests and staff alike.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Managing day-to-day operations across key departments
  2. Leading and developing operational supervisors and their teams
  3. Ensuring strong health & safety systems, emergency readiness, and risk management
  4. Managing park infrastructure, equipment, and vehicle maintenance
  5. Overseeing the design, construction, and upkeep of mountain bike trails
  6. Coordinating with suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies
  7. Contributing to planning, reporting, budgeting, and overall strategy

About You

You'll be someone who thrives in an ever-changing environment, brings a calm and capable leadership style, and loves working with people and the outdoors.

You'll Have:

  1. Proven leadership experience in an operations role — tourism, adventure preferred
  2. A strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations in a high-risk setting
  3. Excellent Project and budget management experience
  4. Strong understanding of the environment, pest control, erosion & sediment management
  5. Great communication and a collaborative, people-first mindset
  6. The ability to lead during pressure moments, especially in emergency situations
  7. Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required

You'll Also Need:

  1. A current First Aid certificate
  2. A full New Zealand driver's licence
  3. The legal right to work in New Zealand
