The Opportunity:
The Community Stroke Rehabilitation (CSR) team based at Middlemore Hospital is looking for a core or senior occupational therapist with an interest in stroke rehabilitation to join the team
If you enjoy variety, new challenges, working in a multi-cultural setting, and being part of an interdisciplinary team, then this is the job for you. CSR provides stroke specialist rehabilitation in the client's homes with a focus on community reintegration and promotion of self-management. Working within the CSR service, you will be a key member of the inter-disciplinary team, using your expertise to provide occupationally focused assessments and interventions based on meaningful occupations for adult clients requiring rehabilitation.
You will be professionally supported by a section head and other senior Occupational therapists, as well as the wider team of physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, social workers, rehabilitation assistants, nurses, dieticians, and doctors. Counties Manukau fully supports the ongoing education and development of all employees, including regular supervision and in-services.
Minimum Requirements:
- NZ Registered Occupational Therapist with a current practising certificate
- Minimum 1 year Occupational Therapy experience in a physical health setting for core clinician
- Minimum 5 years Occupational Therapy experience in a physical health setting for senior clinician
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team
- Full, current NZ driver's licence
- Experience working in rehabilitation
- Experience supervising students and junior staff
