Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand Das Group Full time

These are exciting times at ARAG Law as we are going through a period of positive change and sustained growth across our friendly and high-performing Employment Law department.

The department deals with all aspects of employment law, from advising an employee on pursuing an unfair dismissal claim or a claim for unpaid wages, to defending claims of whistleblowing and discrimination on behalf of respondents. As well as acting for employees and employers during the litigation process, they also provide advisory HR services such as drafting contracts & policies or guiding and supporting businesses through the complexity of employment law requirements.

We now have an exciting opportunity for someone to join the Employment Law department as an Associate, to handle a variety of employment work, from initial referral to conclusion. This will involve non-contentious work, such as advice on settlement agreement terms, drafting and negotiation of settlement agreements, contracts of employment, and handbooks and policies.

We drive a culture of effective and efficient case handling, so you'll ensure our customers always receive the highest standard of service, and you'll adhere to regulatory and company processes while considering the cost aspects.

There is an established pipeline of work available, and this is a great opportunity to raise your individual and business profile. You can look forward to being part of a department that boasts a wealth of experience, unrivalled support, and opportunities for you to grow and develop, which are actively encouraged.

This hybrid role can be full-time or part-time (4 days a week, or equivalent hours).

About you:

We are keen to hear from candidates with sound experience in Employment Litigation, who can demonstrate the following:

  1. Previous experience of contentious and non-contentious Employment Litigation work.
  2. Good working knowledge of Employment Law and procedures.
  3. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  4. Experience of, or a strong desire to assist in business development.
  5. Ability to work under pressure and deliver against deadlines, KPI's, and SLA's.
  6. Proactive approach to managing your own caseload to a very high standard.
  7. Clear and demonstrable understanding of the SRA Code of Conduct.
  8. Ability to work highly collaboratively, with excellent client care skills.

If you are keen to become part of our exciting future, then we would love to hear from you

Additional Information:

Our people are encouraged to think independently and to take ownership of their work, and we are looking for likeminded individuals who share our ambition to make our high-quality legal solutions accessible and affordable for everyone. Only a 5-minute walk from Bristol Temple Meads station, we have newly refurbished, modern city centre offices. Our employees are at the heart of everything we do, and we encourage our people to work flexibly and achieve a work-life balance that suits them.

We will offer you generous remuneration and an attractive benefits package that includes:

  1. 25 days holiday with the option to buy up to a further 5 days.
  2. Company pension scheme with the option to increase contributions.
  3. Group Income Protection for all employees.
  4. Group Legal Protection for all employees.
  5. A choice of either European Motor Assistance or Home Emergency Assistance.
  6. Inclusion in our Health Cash plan.
  7. Access to our employee discounts hub offering exclusive discounts across thousands of retail partners, including discounted gym memberships at over 3,000 gyms across the UK.
  8. Option to join our Sports & Social Club, who organise discounted events such as theatre visits and shopping trips.

If you think you would be a good match for this role and can demonstrate some transferable experience, please apply, regardless of whether you meet all the criteria listed above.
