Ko ake mahi - What you'll do
You'll play a pivotal role in shaping our workforce analytics by providing high-quality people data and reporting that drive informed decision-making. You'll work across the business, delivering meaningful insights that improve workforce planning, remuneration, and organisational effectiveness.
- Lead workforce analytics and reporting – Deliver high-quality data insights to support organisational strategy and decision-making.
- Create dynamic dashboards and reports – Translate raw data into compelling, user-friendly visualisations for senior leaders and key stakeholders.
- Shape workforce planning and remuneration projects – Provide critical data analysis for initiatives like gender pay gap action planning and organisational change.
- Enhance data processes and systems – Identify and lead improvements to our data reporting, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and best practice.
- Collaborate across teams and build relationships with external stakeholders – Work closely with HR, Finance, senior leaders and Te Kawa Mataaho to ensure workforce data drives meaningful insights.
Minimum Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience in quality data gathering and analysis.
- Proven ability and experience in interpreting statistical information and turning data into valuable information to aid decision-making.
- Significant experience taking an enterprise view of people data, and delivering on external statutory reporting requirements such as HRC survey, the Annual Report, OIA's, Statistics New Zealand reports, Select Committee questions, and Audit New Zealand requirements.
- Proven ability to improve data quality through continuous assessments of current business needs and future business directions using a variety of organisational wide HRIS/Payroll systems.
- Proven experience and understanding of high-level strategy and using raw data to provide insights and evidence for decision-making.

You will be part of the HRIS and Payroll team within the Corporate Services Directorate. Our team is responsible for paying our kaimahi accurately and on time, maintaining our organisation structure and delivering workforce analytics.
