Wellington, Wellington, New Zealand Transpower New Zealand Full time

Transpower owns and operates New Zealand's National Grid, delivering high-voltage electricity across the country. As we move toward a sustainable, net-carbon-zero future, we're managing an expanding portfolio of grid projects essential for accelerated electrification.

About The Team
Our Delivery Support and Performance team, within Grid Delivery, plays a pivotal role in driving excellence across investigation and build projects. You'll be working alongside skilled professionals and contributing to shaping Aotearoa's energy future by uplifting project delivery capabilities and ensuring successful outcomes.

The opportunity
This newly created position will play a key role in supporting critical project outcomes through enhanced scheduling.

As our Project Scheduler, you'll help drive our scheduling maturity, ensuring smoother project delivery and improved efficiency. Your work will involve producing accurate schedules, managing resource allocations, and providing insights that guide project success.

You'll focus on:

  1. Providing project scheduling support, including best practice advice and guidance to optimise schedules and resources in Project Online.
  2. Delivering insights into project health, identifying risks and constraints, and supporting corrective actions.
  3. Maintaining data accuracy and integrity while generating actionable metrics and reports.
  4. Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery capabilities.
About You
This role requires more than technical expertise - it's about building relationships, communicating effectively, and collaborating with diverse teams to achieve project success.

You're solutions-focused, adaptable to shifting priorities, and proactive in solving problems. You manage multiple priorities with ease and balance competing demands effectively.

You're also skilled at lifting the capability of those around you, sharing knowledge and helping the team grow to achieve better outcomes.

To be considered, your CV and cover letter will demonstrate:
  1. 3+ years of extensive experience with Project Online or Microsoft Project, with the ability to train and support others.
  2. A strong grasp of project control disciplines and methodologies, such as the PMBOK framework or PRINCE2 methodology.
  3. Experience analysing project data to provide insights that support decision-making and project efficiency.
  4. Experience managing project schedules independently while coordinating with teams to ensure successful delivery.
Join us at Transpower
Aotearoa is powered by the people who work here. Every home, every marae, every electric vehicle, and every hospital relies on the electricity we manage and deliver. This is your opportunity to join us on a mission that impacts all New Zealanders, every day, and for years to come.

With over twenty-eight nationalities, our people bring diverse perspectives, knowledge, and experience, all of which we value and share. We work in the office or on-site for a minimum of three days each week to foster relationships, support learning, and sustain our culture. This approach also offers staff flexibility, with adaptable start and finish times to help balance work and personal commitments.
