Kiwis' mobile data use has increased dramatically in recent years and demand for mobile services continues to grow. The Connexa team is focused on ensuring Aotearoa is keeping up with this increasing demand, both today and into the future, with a forward build commitment of towers for our customers over the next eight years to support the required growth in coverage and capacity.

The role

As the Property Acquisition Manager, you'll be responsible for the selection and acquisition of suitable telecommunications sites across a wide range of landscapes throughout New Zealand. You will be dealing with a wide range of people from farmers through to commercial property owners. You will ensure the timely acquisition of signed property agreements and planning consents in the quantity and at the rate required by the business to enable delivery of Connexa's expansion plans.

What you're responsible for:

  1. Manage the entire site acquisition process: site selection; lease negotiation; plan preparation; resource consent application; and community and landowner relations.
  2. Manage multiple concurrent site acquisition projects, ensuring that sites are delivered to the business on time and within budget.
  3. Manage commercial negotiations with landowners and legal negotiations with their solicitors during securing suitable tenure over the telecommunications site.
  4. Work directly with a wide group of internal subject matter experts (e.g. deployment engineers, RF engineers, design engineers) and manage external consultants (e.g. Property Agents and RMA specialists) and assist in all aspects of the project.
  5. Coordinate and attend site visits and technical team visits during the site selection process.
  6. Prepare and update site status reports/databases.
Requirements

Your strong background with leases and negotiation will set you up for success along with:
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Property or Law or equivalent combination of education and site acquisition management experience in the wireless telecommunications industry, or other demonstrated project coordination experience.
  2. Experience of each part of the site acquisition process, with the ability to drive performance of a wider team of subject experts in parallel.
  3. A strong background in negotiation of leases and associated documents.
  4. A working knowledge of the Resource Management Act.
  5. Track record of success in a team environment in the complex delivery of multiple projects.
  6. Excellent computer/reporting skills, including a high level of proficiency with MS Suite, GIS spatial systems and other database/project management tracking tools.
  7. Outstanding organisational skills and the ability to multi-task and work effectively with limited supervision.
