Who We Are

Our clients mission is to provide a groundbreaking Māori drug and alcohol program, leveraging mana and wairua-enhancing, strengths-based Te Ao Māori practices and the guiding principles of Kia Tupu Whakaritorito.

About the Role

Step into the pivotal role of Clinician at Kia Tupu Whakaritorito, where you'll be instrumental in supporting individuals in custodial settings struggling with substance-related harms. Through mana and wairua-enhancing, strengths-based Te Ao Māori practices, you'll help individuals tūngia te ururua-remove old habits-and develop new strategies and skills for sustainable recovery.

Guided by the Clinical Team Leader, you'll work alongside a multidisciplinary team to enhance programs rooted in kawa and tikanga. You'll deliver engaging psycho-educational groups and provide one-to-one mātauranga Māori-led therapeutic interventions.

About You

We're on the lookout for a passionate clinician with:

  • A current full Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
  • DAPAANZ registration, or
  • Registration with a Professional Body under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance (HPCA) Act 2003 or the Social Worker Registration Act 2003
  • Deep expertise and interest in Tikanga Māori and Pacific cultural norms
  • Experience in custodial settings is a plus
  • Lived experience, alongside clinical skills and expertise, showcasing that change is achievable
  • Ability to work in values-led, mana and wairua-enhancing ways, demonstrated through language, attitudes, and behaviours
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications
  • A full NZ driver's license
  • Willingness to undergo criminal conviction and reference checks
