Our nautically-inspired 5-star hotel sits on the end of Princes Wharf, home to a wide variety of fine shops, restaurants, and bars.

We are looking for a fulltime Assistant Front Desk Manager to become part of our professional and hard-working Front Office team.

What will you be doing?

You will be based at the Hilton Auckland hotel in Auckland CBD, working under the general direction of the Rooms Divisions Manager. You will also be responsible for:

Make appropriate selection of rooms based on guests' needs, code electronic keys, confirm the room number and rates with a written confirmation
Occupy the hotel lobby and other public areas, particularly at busy times
Ensure a prompt and efficient departure by settling guest's accounts as per billing and reservation instructions, ensuring that all guests' folios are correct
Manage, record, and resolve promptly all Guest complaints
Meet and greet VIP Guests and major corporate clients upon arrival
Coordinate the services and special facilities provided to long-stay Guests
Understand all credit procedures and ensure they are applied
Stay current with all hotel products, services, policies and emergency procedures
Monitor Guest satisfaction reports and implement actions to improve results
Check registration cards, meeting and function information, billing instructions, and reservation backup to ensure that all information received is acted upon
Handle, record and follow through with management issues or emergencies that arise
Conduct daily briefings, shift handovers, meetings and read the logbook on a daily basis.
Conduct any Health and Safety procedures, if required, including fire walks, food safety investigations, etc.
RequirementsWhat are we looking for?Previous supervisory experience in Front Office within the hotel industry
Previous work experience within a 5-star hotel environment
Good knowledge of Health and Safety and security procedures
Calm, efficient and the ability to work well under pressure
Excellent leadership skills and exceptional communication skills
A passion for delivering exceptional levels of guest service
Possess strong commercial acumen, with experience in increasing profitability in a tight market sector
Experience in managing budgets, revenue proposals and forecasting results in a similar sized property
MUST be eligible to work in New Zealand
