Bring your A-game to this integral role

As Board Support Officer, you will support the East Coast Hawkes Bay and Wellington Conservation Boards, providing a high standard of administrative services.

You will also support the Statutory Manager with board-related tasks.

The position will be focussed on:

  • communicating with a wide range of people at various levels, including the Conservation Boards, regional Directors and PA's, district Operations Managers
- carrying out planned work to a high standard, on time and within budget
- managing schedules, bookings and correspondence
- meeting management including agendas, minute taking and room & catering booking
- word processing, photocopying and filing documents.

You will be a self-starter that supports conservation growth and enjoys delivering an exceptional level of customer service by supporting others, resolving enquiries, and providing solutions.

If you have the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you:

  • A high level of organisation skills, the ability to deliver on time and solve problems as they arise.
  • A qualification in business/office administration or equivalent experience.

  • Strong emotional intelligence, able to speak confidently and adapt to suit the situation.
  • Experience minutetaking to a high degree of quality.

  • Understanding of the work of the Department and how it contributes to New Zealand's future sustainability.
  • Organisational skills, the ability to deliver on time and solve problems as they arise.
Desirable

  • A qualification in business/office administration or equivalent experience.
  • Good understanding of Te Ao Māori is highly desirable.

The Regional Operations Group is responsible for delivering conservation work on the ground through our biodiversity, recreation/historic, community engagement and visitor centre teams.

This role allows you to work with a team of motivated, enthusiastic and passionate people driven to collaboratively achieve conservation outcomes.

The team are warm and friendly, and operate in a flexible, high-trust model that empowers you to lead your own mahi.

The salary range for this position is $54,314.00 to $69,401.00, with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory - this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
