As the sole transmission network asset owner, we keep the energy flowing - transporting high voltage electricity from where it is generated to cities, towns, and some major industrial users.


As the System Operator, Transpower operates the electricity market and power system 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.


About the team
The Security Services function, within our large and primarily Wellington-based Information Services and Technology Division, provides the cybersecurity operations, design, identity management, and risk and assurance functions across New Zealand's primary Critical National Infrastructure including:

  • Cybersecurity across our five offices and 182 substations, supported by facility management, Operations, and Grid Delivery
  • The Security Operations Centre (SOC), whose core function is to monitor, detect, investigate, and respond to cyber threats around the clock

About the Opportunity

  • Optimising security controls across our enterprise and critical environments
  • Engage with project delivery teams to ensure that the wider Security Services Team are aware of projects that will require support or will have an impact on the volume of tickets
  • Assist the Security Operations Team to resolve incident and request tickets
  • Support Security Services Team managers develop and deliver Cybersecurity education and awareness within Transpower
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders

What will you bring?


Excellent written and oral communication skills and a minimum of ten years' experience of cybersecurity, and network design, development, and integration in enterprise scale corporate environments.
