Plastics Outpatients, Christchurch Outpatients, Paediatric Outpatients, Orthopaedic Outpatients, Eye Outpatients, Gynae Procedure Unit, Colposcopy Unit and Gynae Outpatient Services have teamed together and are seeking casual RN's to work across the OPD as required.

Who we are;

Plastics Outpatients - Patients that attend PSUOPD will be directly discharged from a ward setting, or BOPU, or patients may come in for a first specialist appointment or a referral from a GP/specialist or community nursing service requiring complex wound assessment. These patients will be seen in either a nurse led wound clinic or consultant/registrar clinic. The plastic specialty includes reconstructions from cancer or lesions, breast reconstructions/reduction, appronectomies/body lifts, skin lesion treatments, burn injuries, hand injuries, traumatic injuries, complex wounds, cleft palate, congenital deformities of the hand/ears, and some combined head and neck cases.

Christchurch Outpatients - (including the Endocrine Test Centre and Anaesthetic Assessment Clinic) works across four floors of our new purpose-built outpatient facility. We provide the nursing support and care for twenty different Specialities. Every day in Christchurch Outpatients is different with the Nursing team managing wound care, assisting in diagnostic procedures such as flexible cystoscopy, supporting minor surgery and procedures, as well as running nurse led Phototherapy clinics.

Paediatric Daystay and Outpatient Dept - anything that can be done without needing an admission is done in paediatric Daystay. WE cater for tamariki and rangatahi from 0-16yrs and are a small but very supportive team so we will look after you and help you achieve whatever training you would like. We do infusions including monoclonal antibody, blood and blood products etc so an IV cert is essential. Venupuncture training is desirable but not essential. There is also a varied caseload of wound dressings, CVAD maintenance, food challenges etc so you can train on any of these that you would like to.

Eye outpatients -You - ll have experience with a wide range of technical equipment, which will see you transition easily into our busy team consisting of allied eye professionals, as well as a large team of nurses. We - re actively involved in paediatric and adult strabismus assessments, cataract assessments - IOL master and ultrasound biometry, Visual Fields (Goldmann and Humphrey), corneal topography (Pentacam), OCT, Optos, general ophthalmic duties, auditing and research practices.

Gynaecology Outpatient Services covers a broad range of clinics and services to support the Gynaecology Service and women - s health in Waitaha (Canterbury). The diverse and broad range of procedures and clinics makes this an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to develop and grow their gynaecology knowledge and skills. We are looking for someone who is passionate about women - s health, motivated and organised with a mature outlook to consistently provide a high standard of patient care. Your initiative, excellent time management skills and the ability to effectively and efficiently complete tasks is vital to the role. Exceptional interpersonal skills are crucial to facilitate communication with patients, their whanau (family) and the clinical team. Your ability to work in an empathetic non-judgemental manner is imperative to your success in this role.
