Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer with a passion for new concepts, customers and bespoke industrial automation?


Do you have experience in conceptualizing new ideas and pitching them to internal teams and stakeholders alike? Our client is looking for a forward-thinking Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team.


Our client is at the forefront of industrial automation and is an international manufacturing technology business that designs, builds and innovates world-class production equipment.

This company has expanded to equip global factories with smart manufacturing, robotics, data science, machine learning technology and Industrial IoT solutions.

Well-funded, well networked and having seen significant growth over recent years they are now at the start of the next stage of their growth story.

They have now created a new opportunity for an experienced Engineer to join their energetic and dynamic team.

Reporting to the Engineering Team Lead, this role will focus on advanced engineering, Mechanical Design and have an aspect of technical sales for innovative automation systems with responsibilities including:

  • Develop concept CAD drawings and layouts which allow customers to visually understand their solution.
  • Proactively align with the sales team in securing business.
  • Operate as the technical voice of the customer when engaging with internal team members to create winning value propositions for the business.

About you:


To thrive in this role, it is likely that you already have demonstrable experience in the similar position - with experience in or enthusiasm for robotics and automation.

In addition to your tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics you will have:

  • 5 years' experience with 3D CAD (Solidworks) Design and concepting of special purpose machinery and automation solutions.
  • Ability to communicate and conceptualise ideas to internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to estimate new concepts based interpolating historical costs.
  • High degree of written and spoken English
  • Ability to concept, display lateral thinking and break down problems.
Experience in the following would be highly valued but is not an essential prerequisite:

  • Ability to influence stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • International experience in Industrial Automation markets and culture awareness.
  • Writing proposal descriptions including but not limited to technical descriptions, delivery and commercial terms.
