We are seeking a skilled and qualified Fitter and Turner to join our Client's team. The ideal candidate will have a New Zealand qualification, with extensive experience in mechanical and sheet metal fabrication. This role is pivotal to ensuring the precision and quality of our manufactured components and systems.

Job Type: Full-Time - Temp

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform fitting and turning tasks, including machining and assembling metal parts.
  • Engage in mechanical fabrication, constructing components according to specifications.
  • Undertake sheet metal fabrication, cutting, bending, and shaping materials to required dimensions.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of machinery, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure products meet technical standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with other team members to optimize production processes and solve technical problems.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • New Zealand qualification as a Fitter and Turner.
  • Proven experience in mechanical fabrication and sheet metal fabrication.
  • Proficiency in operating machine tools and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
  • Reliable, punctual, and possessing a strong work ethic.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
