Checkout Operator Part-time
Are you a Customer Service superstar looking for part-time work?


We are looking for an energetic part-time Checkout Operators with excellent people skills to make sure we provide a fantastic shopping experience for our customers.

This is an opportunity to come and work at an amazing supermarket and in an industry with great job security and stability.


The days and hours of this position are:
Friday 4pm-8pm and Saturday 3pm-9pm

About us and what we offer:

New World Durham Street is Christchurch's newest supermarket experience, offering the latest in supermarket design and features and we are proudly locally owned and operated This role offers a great team and store culture, full training, and a commitment to ongoing training and learning.

This role also gives you the opportunity to further develop customer service, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Your day-to-day:

  • Delivering outstanding customer service and building rapport with customers
  • Scanning items accurately and packing groceries properly while still maintaining excellent customer service, think multitasking
  • Working in a team environment and giving effective communication
  • Cleaning and collecting trolleys, making sure our checkout area looks amazing

What we need from you:

  • A natural ability to work with people
  • A commitment to excellent customer service
  • Great communication and time management skills
  • Flexibility to pick up extra shifts and availability to work over the upcoming Christmas/New Year's holiday and summer break
  • A positive approach to your day
