CUSTOMER COMMERCIAL PARTNER – POSITION DESCRIPTION

THE ROLE

As the Customer Commercial Partner, you'll be responsible for collaborating with customers to understand their procurement requirements, negotiate contracts, and facilitate the procurement process to meet their expectations . Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will establish and maintain strong relationships with our clients, ensuring their procurement needs are met effectively and efficiently.

WHAT YOU'RE RESPONSIBLE FOR

· Commercial Strategy: Provide an in-depth understanding of customer value chains, business needs, and industry trends. The Customer Commercial Partner will also be tasked with resolving any procurement-related issues or concerns raised by clients and ensuring timely delivery of products or services.

· Strategic Pricing: Develop and implement pricing strategies aligned with business objectives. Analyze market dynamics, competitive landscape, and customer behavior to set optimal pricing. Lead negotiations with clients, suppliers, and partners to achieve favorable pricing terms.

· People Leadership Lead and mentor teams responsible for commercial activities and procurement. Foster change leadership and effective communication to drive employee engagement. Reinforce organizational values and objectives.

· Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and industry contacts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business goals.

· Health & Safety. Be safe - Take all reasonable precautions while at work to ensure your own safety and the safety of your team, contractors, and the public. Follow our health and safety procedures and speak up about hazards and any health and safety events (incidents and accidents).

WHAT SKILLS & EXPERIENCE YOU NEED

· Proven experience in commercial strategies, procurement, and contract negotiations.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Knowledge of procurement/commercial best practices and market dynamics.

· Focus on driving excellence in mutually beneficial commercial outcomes, whilst tightly managing risk and ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement.

· Communication. Outstanding communication skills in all formats, including the ability to make the complex and complicated, simple, and understandable. Strong communication skills, negotiation abilities, and a customer-centric approach are essential for this role.

· Stakeholder management. Proven partnering and stakeholder management capabilities and experience i.e., working effectively within and across teams and functions within a large organisation.

· Social & relationship skills. A people person, able to build rapport and constructive working relationships with diverse groups of people.

· Resilience & growth mindset. Operates with a growth mindset, being willing to embrace challenges, persist in the face of setbacks and seek learnings from every opportunity.

· Independent and proactive. "Batteries included" – a positive, energetic and productive person with a bias for action and getting things done.

· Judgement & problem-solving. Big picture thinker, able to exercise sound judgement and use strong transaction management and problem-solving skills to drive matters to conclusion.
