Calling all occupational therapy students or those interested in flexible part-time hours, who have a passion for contributing in a positive way in the health care setting to make a difference to the Waitematā community.

Are you an enthusiastic people's person and wish to join a dynamic healthcare team that provides physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech language therapy to people at North Shore or Waitakere Hospitals, and / or in their own homes?


An opportunity has arisen for a casual therapy assistant to join our team, with an initial focus on supporting particularly our occupational therapists.

In this varied role you could work across medical, orthopaedic, surgical or older adult wards, or in people's homes carrying out a range of tasks and activities, supporting people to practice functional tasks so they can return to meaningful occupations.

  • Selfmotivation, enthusiasm and initiative


This casual position is well suited to those who are studying or already working part-time who want flexible and non-permanent additional hours that fit around any current commitments.

Casual hours would be offered between the hours of 7:30am - 4:30pm Monday to Friday for either a few hours at a time or a whole 8 hour shift, as this is when clinical staff are around to support and supervise work.

As this is a casual position there are no guaranteed hours or hospital site. Work hours are offered as and when required and a casual contract gives the flexibility of indicating availability.
