Our Cyber Security Platforms & Solutions Team help our clients to navigate and take control of digital disruption for their businesses across New Zealand and Australia, by building, maintaining and enhancing the platforms and solutions our Security Operations Centre use to keep them protected.

About the Role:

You will primarily be responsible for security platforms and infrastructure related activities across a range of vendor technologies.

You will be working within a team of passionate, innovative and engaging people who focus on building, delivering and supporting the latest Endpoint Detection Response (EDR), Vulnerability Assessment (VA), Security Information Event Management (SIEM), Web Protection and Security Orchestration Automation and Response (SOAR) systems for our clients.


What You'll Do:


You will help develop, manage and maintain our growing portfolio of service offerings using technologies from Crowdstrike, Splunk, Microsoft, Palo Alto, Zscaler and Rapid 7.

You will help troubleshoot and resolve incidents on the platforms, to ensure our Security Operations Centre (SOC) have functioning environments and tools to help keep our clients protected.


Role Scope Will Include:

  • Configuring and updating hardware and software
  • Establishing and managing user accounts
  • Overseeing or conducting backup and recovery tasks
  • Implementing operational and technical security controls
  • Developing Playbooks
  • Troubleshooting, incident remediation and root cause analysis
  • Daily checks
  • Implementing change requests
  • Project acceptance testing
  • Process optimization and technical standardization
  • Reporting & Analysis
  • Maintaining relationships with stakeholders
  • Being part of an oncall roster 1 week in
  • Adhering to organisational security policies and procedures.
The Person

You will be an enthusiastic team player who understands what needs to be done to provide outstanding service to our clients.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the Cybersecurity sector and is looking to build a career in this space.

You will have a solid understanding of networks, firewalls, proxies, SIEM, Endpoint controls, data loss prevention concepts and technologies.

You will have at least 3-5 years' experience in an IT technical support related role and ideally have exposure to security technologies such as Crowdstrike, Splunk, Sentinel/Microsoft Defender, Rapid 7, Palo Alto, Zscaler etc.

Secondly, you'll be technically strong and have the right attitude towards professional development. You will lead by example and guide your less experienced peers in delivering first class service for Datacom's customers.

You'll have:

  • A customer centric approach ensuring consistency in delivery of service.
  • Minimum of 5 years operational experience in Cybersecurity, managing EDR, VA and SIEM platforms, alternatively, a strong background Network, Server & Infrastructure engineering.
  • An understanding of Cybersecurity in an Operational or Professional Services environment
  • Event Management and Response experience.
  • Platform and Application Management experience managing and maintaining business critical systems in a production environment using ITIL Processes
  • Knowledge of networks, firewalls, proxies' concepts and technologies
  • Knowledge of operating system commandline tools
  • Knowledge of system/server diagnostic tools and fault identification techniques.
  • Knowledge of organizational IT user security policies (e.g. account creation, password rules, access control).
  • Knowledge of systems administration concepts.
  • Experience in scripting, minimum PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of measures or indicators of system performance and availability
