We require an HR function that provides a 'One HR' experience for our employees and leaders around the world.

We are looking for a fixed term Senior HR Business Partner to deliver exceptional HR advice, support, and client service to grow the Christchurch Engine Centre as a leading employer of choice, focused on our employee experience.

You will report to the Senior Manager, HR and develop excellent business partnering relationships with the CHCEC management team, all leaders and employees, union organisers, delegates, and international colleagues.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an HR team transforming the HR operating model to align with our global HR model, empowering leaders and enhancing our employee experience.

YOUR ROLEYou will partner with leaders and employees in your portfolio to understand their business needs and to deliver HR advice, solutions and coaching across the employee lifecycle.

As the IR Expert, you will be responsible for building capability across the business and within the HR Team.

You will provide training and coaching to build confidence, self-insight, and capability for leaders to build inclusive teams and address and manage ER issues directly.

You will provide expert IR/ER advice to the HR team and resolve escalated complex cases.

You will bring your insights, expertise, and experience to develop the ER/IR Strategy aligned to the People and Culture Strategy.

You will be experienced in collective bargaining and take a lead role, managing any variations to the Collective Agreements.

You will lead projects, working groups, and policy and programme development in line with our focus on building positive engagement and working relationships.

As well as monitoring legislative updates and keeping all policies current and fit for purpose.

You will be strong in process improvement and the local SME for the global Workday Enterprise System, for Talent Acquisition and Onboarding, and projects or programmes across these functions.

YOUR PROFILEBachelor's degree with a specialisation in a human resources related field.

Demonstrated HR functional expertise with a minimum of 8 years of progressively increased responsibility, preferably up to a management level.

Extensive Industrial Relations experience, including collective bargaining and interpretation of Collective Agreements. Strong working knowledge and interpretation of New Zealand employment legislation and HR best practice.
Experienced practitioner in dispute resolution, policy development, workplace investigations, disciplinary processes, negotiations, mediations, and performance management.
Extensive experience in Talent Acquisition. Experience in implementing and working with HRIS / ERP systems.
Strength in business process improvement and continuous improvement.
Responsive and engaged HR Partner who establishes professional creditability and trusted relationships to get the best people outcomes. Strong project and programme management skills and experience.
Self-driven, agile, customer and results centric approach towards project delivery.
Data literacy and digital agility along with strong administration skills is essential.
Adapts and responds to change or setbacks, finding solutions to challenges.
Works well under pressure with the flexibility to manage multiple demands.
