Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and install pipework for airconditioning systems;
  • Study blueprints, design specifications, or manufacturers' recommendations to ascertain the configuration of heating or cooling equipment components and to ensure the proper installation of components;
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, or diagrams to inform installation, development, or operation activities;
  • Drilling holes, installing mounting brackets, and cutting, bending, and threading piping;
  • Bolting, soldering, riveting, welding, and brazing pipes to connect equipment, and checking alignment and accuracy of fit;
  • Install or oversee the installation of airconditioning systems;
  • Check existing airconditioning systems for leaks and faults;
  • Repair and maintain airconditioning systems;
  • Install, connect, or adjust thermostats, humidistats, or timers;
  • Adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance;
  • Test and balance systems once they are installed;
  • Comply with all applicable standards, policies, or procedures, such as safety procedures or maintaining a clean work area.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an airconditioning mechanic or similar role (3 years)
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of airconditioning systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
