We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Head Teacher to join Northland Kindergarten.
Our full-year Kindergarten is licensed for 40 children aged - 5 years old who attend for 6 hours each day.
This is a full-time position worked 8 hours each day between 8am and 4:30pm.
At He Whānau Manaaki Kindergartens, we have over 108 kindergartens across the regions we serve, bringing learning, connection, and fun to families across Whanganui, Central Plateau, Horowhenua, Kapiti, Porirua, Greater Wellington, Upper Hutt, Wairarapa and South Otago.
Our vision for He Whānau Manaaki o Tararua is derived from our belief in the importance of quality early childhood education for the children themselves, their whānau, their community and for Aotearoa New Zealand.

Community description
Northland Kindergarten is situated in the suburb of Northland which is a well-established area close to central Wellington, on the city fringe.
This is also part of their focus on a sustainable and localised curriculum, knowing about and caring for their local environment.
A strength of the team is their commitment to Te Ao Māori and continuing to grow their Te Tiriti o Waitangi practices.
We are licensed for 41 children and operate as a full year kindergarten which means we are open throughout the school holidays.
We are looking for an ECE leader who:
demonstrates a strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and to continuing to grow Te Tiriti-based practice across the curriculum.
- leads collaboratively and supports a team culture of open communication, collective problem solving and shared responsibility- promotes an environment where the diversity and uniqueness of all children are accepted and valued, and which is responsive to culture, language, and identity.
- demonstrate their knowledge of research and pedagogy relating to learning within a sociocultural framework.
- is skilled in leading the team in planning for, implementing and evaluating intentional teaching practice within a localised curriculum.
