ABOUT THE ROLE


Nielsen New Zealand is currently looking for an experienced, self-motivated Commercial Director to be part of a highly motivated team to drive our New Business team as well as our strategy and relationships with advertisers in New Zealand.

The main objective of this role is to proactively design and execute a commercial new business strategy that focuses on penetration with Advertisers and partnering with other teams to identify upsell opportunities for Media Agencies and Media Owners.

Your key responsibilities will be to lead a team tasked with identifying and closing new business opportunities.

For this role, we are looking for an articulate, confident, high-energy sales leader who is skilled in working collaboratively with other teams, committed to design and deliver solutions that are relevant and unique for our clients.

  • ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Development:
A detailed understanding of the media ecosystem and experience in working with advertisers in New Zealand

  • Ability to engage with senior stakeholders to uncover unmet business needs and opportunities and use these insights to design solutions or strategies to deliver against client's expectations
  • The ability to connect various services together to deliver bespoke, tailored solutions for clients
  • Provide feedback to product and operational teams regarding service and product developments to meet your client's needs
  • Commercial growth: Develop a commercial strategy, managing partnerships & plan to facilitate new business and upsell opportunities
  • Deliver quarterly growth targets through new business and upsell
  • Develop a sales strategy & plan to facilitate:
  • Proactively identify and close new business and upselling opportunities
  • Manage sales pipeline and produce weekly reports (Salesforce)
  • Facilitate, drive and support sales initiatives across the wider Media Industry Group team
  • Client Engagement: Monitor and encourage greater usage of Nielsen solutions in advertisers
  • Support the team to create and deliver clear, concise and compelling internal and external client presentations (proposals/solutions)
  • Develop a solid working understanding of Nielsen measurement and planning solutions along with other relevant Nielsen products to offer to clients holistic set of insights
  • QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Bachelor degree qualified and/or substantive relevant business experience.
  • Ideally 8+ years media experience, with several of those in a Director/ Management position.
  • Proven track record of success across new business generation and/or substantive relevant business experience.
  • Experience of working successfully within a 'matrix' style environment.
  • Previous experience working with Nielsen Solutions is not mandatory but highly desirable.
