Production Shift Leader, reporting to the Manufacturing Manager and based at our plant in Papakura, South Auckland. This role is permanent, full-time and working our

Morning Shift, working Monday to Friday, 12.05am - 8.05am.

Here at Griffin's Snacks, we proudly produce many iconic and much-loved kiwi brands, including Griffin's, Eta, Nice'n'Natural and Huntley and Palmers, and are looking for team players who are passionate about our products and keen to continue to grow their already established management career within the FMCG industry.

This fast-paced role is responsible for the leadership, direction and management of production lines where we make our biscuits and crackers.

Alongside the daily running of production and team leadership, this role will have exposure to a range of projects and continuous improvement initiatives - we're looking for someone who really thrives on a challenge, proactively seeks new opportunities and who is all about thinking outside the box

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Managing the shift team across production lines, ensuring all production targets & manufacturing plans are achieved while optimising labour and minimising waste
  • Managing, inspiring, engaging and developing a team of approx.20 permanent employees, including recruitment, performance management and training plans
  • Championing Health & Safety and Food Safety cultures, driving GMP and ensuring safe working practices are maintained
  • Ensuring product quality standards are always met
  • Leading and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Working and collaborating to improve performance of the lines, with a key focus on costs

What you'll bring to the role?

  • Proven leadership experience within a FMCG manufacturing environment (an extra tick if in food manufacturing)
  • Ideally, you'll have a tertiary qualification in Operations Management, Engineering, Food Technology or another relevant field
  • Ability to analyse production data to identify trends and future improvements
  • Positivity and a solutionsfocused approach

  • A team player with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to 'think around corners' you try to be a step ahead of the game
  • Practical Continuous Improvement skills
  • Resilience and the confidence to make decisions under pressure
