An opportunity has come up for enthusiastic and innovative nurses to join our dynamic nursing team in a part-time capacity as a Clinical Coach.

The purpose of this position is to promote and provide targeted and planned point of care clinical education for an identified nurse, nursing cohort or team.

The clinical coach works rostered shifts/across the continuum, sharing a case load with the nurse to maximise education and coaching opportunities.


The
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Starship Children's Hospital is a 40 cot unit consisting of 18 intensive care and 22 high dependency cots.

NICU cares for babies born premature from 23 weeks gestation and is the referral centre for babies who need paediatric cardiology services, neonatal surgery or treatment for complex metabolic diseases.

The unit are also responsible for flight retrieval for the Northern Region.

To be successful in this role you will

  • Have NZ Nursing Council registration with a current Annual Practising Licence
  • Have proficient PDRP
  • Preceptorship Certification
  • Have a minimum of 2 years' experience post registration in relevant nursing specialty
  • Postgraduate qualification or working towards
  • Have a strong commitment to leading professional development, quality care and whānau centred nursing
