Investigator (Compliance, Monitoring and Enforcement)
About the role
You will be playing a lead role in ensuring enforcement activities arising from monitoring programmes are transparent, robust and meet best practice standards.
You will be assisting the enforcement manager in prosecutions regarding breaches of resource consent conditions, resource management plan rules, and Resource Management Act offences and provide a mentoring role to others in the compliance and monitoring team.
Reporting to the
Compliance, Monitoring and Enforcement Team Leader your role will be field, and office based, working in the greater team of 12 people.
You'll recognise the importance of the role as a Treaty partner and understand how that underpins Gisborne District Council's work.
Duties Include:
- Site visits
- Building case files
- Presenting recommendations to management
- Assisting through prosecutions
Skills & experience
- Regulatory or some sort of compliance
- Ideally experience researching case law
- Knowledge of Resource Management legislation
- Effective skills and experience with Dispute and Conflict Mediation
