As part of the Asia Pacific Healthcare Group (APHG), Labtests has been providing pathology services to the Auckland community since August 2009.
We recognise the importance of highly qualified staff, inspired leadership together with advanced information technology and automation to achieve service excellence.
About the role:
- We have 4X Parttime roles available for Monday to Friday, for 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm shifts
- Our Specimen Services Department receives thousands of samples from our 58 collection centers and GPs in Auckland
- You will be working in a dedicated team to receive all the specimens, correctly identifying, labeling, and preparing for further testing by our Medical Laboratory staff.
- Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment in a condition that allows optimum performance as directed
- Undertaking quality duties such as archiving and storage of request forms for the department, as directed
- You will be on your feet, walking and handling specimens weighing up to 500 gm to 5 Kg
To be considered for this role you will need:
- An aptitude and enthusiasm for health and science, and have a minimum of NCEA Level 3 in Science, Maths and English. Holding a human biology-based science degree is a bonus, but not a requirement
- An eye for detail for detecting discrepancies
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures, work in a team and a complex environment
- Registered with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand as a Pre-Analytical Medical Lab Technician or ability to work toward registration
- Legally entitled to work in New Zealand
