The opportunity

Our Regulatory Performance and Insights function provides hindsight, insight, foresight, and oversight to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, resilience, and fairness of the land transport regulatory system.

About you

  • Your thought leadership, driving innovative ways of working
  • Experience in evidence-based risk identification and assessment
  • Experience building and advising on risk-based regulatory practices
  • Exceptional strategic advice skills, collaborating with managers to mitigate risk
  • Ability to establish strong relationships and networks within a complex organization
  • A proven track record of successful delivery in previous roles
The following would be advantageous:

  • A relevant qualification
  • Knowledge of the land transport system and regulation

It is anticipated that the role may involve handling classified information occasionally and requires familiarity with the New Zealand government's classification system and information management policies.

You are expected to have or be willing to acquire knowledge of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori, as well as an understanding or willingness to learn about te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as applied in the public sector.
