About the role


We are looking for a reliable, mature and experienced person to join our team and take on maintenance jobs we have around the site.

This job is similar to a caretaker or handyman.

No two days will be the same You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our premises and facilities.

You'll help maintain our top-of-the-line machines, tidy the site, and help different teams when they need it.

This is a hands-on role that requires a versatile individual who can handle a range of maintenance and repair tasks.

Hours of work
We are offering unique flexibility and stability with this role.

We will work with you to find a suitable work schedule around your lifestyle, offering options of 30-40 hours and flexible start/finish times and days.

Overtime above 40 hours per week is paid at time and a half.


This role would ideally suit someone looking for a long-term position, such as someone close to retirement, semi-retired, or someone who just enjoys longevity in their roles.


Responsibilities:

  • General upkeep of grounds and facilities
  • Refurbish, clean, operate, and repair machines as needed
  • Conduct regular maintenance inspections and address repair needs promptly
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks
  • Coordinate with contractors for specialized repairs
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of outdoor areas
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • General handyman and groundskeeper tasks as needed

About you:

  • Good physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labor when required
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks
  • Strong knowledge of general maintenance and repair tasks, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting
  • Able to safely use hand tools, power tools and operate maintenance machinery
  • Ability to work unsupervised but also as part of a wider team environment
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures
  • Proven experience in a similar role of benefit, such as a caretaker, janitor, handyperson or handyman, property maintenance or maintenance technician
  • Mechanical knowledge preferable
  • NZ drivers license and reliable transport
  • Current entitlement to work in NZ
