Sensitive Stores Manager

You will be managing the day-to-day logistics operations and equipment for the Test, Reference and Evaluation Capability Engineering Centre (TREC EC) with the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF).
As this is a new role, they will be required to set up and maintain inventory management systems and processes for new equipment requiring testing and evaluations before going in to service.
Duties for this role may include:
- Setting up, developing and maintaining a robust inventory management system and processes for all TREC accounts and equipment.
- Performing equipment and accounts audits, along with investigating anomalies as needed.
- Tracking and preparing equipment for freight, loans, and returns.
- Recording and maintaining documentation for all equipment.
- Liaising with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
You will have previous experience in a logistics based role, such as within supply chain management or a warehouse environment, with an sound understanding of fleet management, purchasing, loans and auditing of equipment.
This role requires someone who is highly organised and can manage their own workflow, along with a proactive and continuous improvement mind-set to set up processes from scratch with cataloguing and inventorying all equipment.
Ideally, you will also have:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organisation.
- The confidence to work autonomously and with discretion, as well as part of the wider team.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, along with remaining agile to changing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate technical equipment requirements.
- Sound knowledge and experience with SAP SRM and/or similar logistics systems, as well as MS Office Suite.
- An understanding of military environment and sensitive equipment (desirable).
The Network Enabled Army Programme (NEA) is a long term (up to 12 years), large scale, high risk programme, which will have important outcomes for supporting NZDF operations.
The Programme will introduce into service a deployable, networked Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capability for the New Zealand Army.
The Programmes will provide a catalyst for step changes in the way NZDF's Land Forces operate.The Programmes investment objectives include maximising informed tactical decision making, providing commanders with effective situational awareness, reducing risk and enabling NZDF Land Forces to operate in a modern digital environment.
The Test, Reference and Evaluation Capability Engineering Centre, (TREC EC) is an enduring facility from the NEA Programme.It is a flexible, integrated, NZDF organisation comprised of civilian, uniform personnel and commercial partners The role of the TREC is to inform, test, evaluate and continuously improve the NZDF Networked Capability.
NZDF Command, Control, Computers and Communications (C4), Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR).Every hour of every day, 365 days of the year, the New Zealand Defence Force is contributing to the defence, security and well-being of Aotearoa / New Zealand.
