The Opportunity we are currently looking for is a Senior Payroll Officer to manage payroll function for the regions in southern atmosphere including but not limited to New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, while assisting the business with payroll relates queries and other tasks necessary to run an efficient and accurate payroll function.

The Specifics

  • Directly manage payroll for the southern atmosphere ensuring:
  • Employee data is correctly loaded, maintained and always up to date in the payroll systems and all relevant information is provided to third party payroll providers on time.
  • High degree of accuracy is maintained for earnings and deductions for each individual employee, to ensure all staff details for the pay run are accurate and complete.
  • All pay runs are completed within set deadlines with sufficient time given for review, adjustments and processing.
  • Adequate and timely reporting is provided to the business and third parties, as required.
  • Monthly accounting for payroll is completed accurately and within monthly deadlines, including posting of pay run journals, leave liabilities accrual, payroll cost variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintain clear and ongoing communication with the PX team, third-party payroll providers and payroll contractors, to ensure completeness and accuracy of the employees' data, accurate processing of each pay run, and ongoing monitoring and improvement of shared processes.
  • Manage compliance of any payroll related tax filings, renewals of locally required compensation and injury management policies and any other payroll related obligations.
  • Perform regular checks on payroll data and drive payroll process improvements locally as well as globally ensuring consistency where applicable.
  • Provide backup and assistance to the wider finance team as required.
  • Advise and support the management team in respect to the payroll function.
  • Be responsive to the internal business queries in a reasonable timeframe.
  • To abide to the Compliance Policies and Procedures of the Company.
  • Take reasonable care of your own and other people's Health & Safety in the workplace.
  • Report hazards in your work or in your work environment that may be putting your or anyone else's Health & Safety at risk.

What we're looking for (you don't need to be a guru at all, we're looking forward to coaching and collaborating with you):

  • Minimum of 5 years' payroll experience in NZ and Australia region
  • Understanding statutory return requirements and payroll legislation
  • Problem solving ability, analytical, numeracy and excellent reconciliation skills
  • Intermediate-Advanced knowledge in MS Excel including creating pivot tables, v-look ups and any other necessary functions.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage the demands of a rapidly evolving environment
