We have a permanent full-time position for a Senior Clinician Speech Language Therapist to join our Assessment Treatment and Rehabilitation Team (AT&R).

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a dynamic interdisciplinary team, leading the delivery of speech language therapy for patients undergoing inpatient rehabilitation using evidence based practice.

This role will primarily be based in our neuro/ general rehab ward with some in reach into the older adult wards.

The role is primarily based at Middlemore Hospital in Auckland.

Counties is committed to enabling our patients to be empowered to self-manage and you will be supported to work collaboratively with patients, carers and other health care professionals.

There is scope for service development and implementing projects to improve the care of your patients.

Ideally you will be able to work autonomously, as well as part of an inter-disciplinary team and ongoing support will be provided as required.

Essential:

  • New Zealand approved qualification to practice speech and language therapy
  • Practicing APC
  • 5 years minimum post qualification clinical experience
  • Minimum level 3 FEES competency
  • Videofluoroscopy experience
  • Full current NZ driver's licence

Desired:

  • Previous involvement with clinical and professional supervision/development of staff and students
  • FEES (Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) experience
