**Ko te turanga mahi | About the role**:
Reporting to the Security Team Leader and based at the Otara Campus, you will be providing internal and external security services across Manukau Institute of Technology, including satellite sites, to reduce risk to staff, students and visitors and aid the prevention of property loss. You will be involved in the control room which involves CCTV monitoring and Access control. There are monthly security reports, generating weekly roster and proving training for any new security officers and contractors. There is the opportunity to give class talks to our students about keeping safe on campus and about MIT's emergency procedures and protocols.

**Hours and Shifts**

This is a full-time role working on a rotating roster, Monday to Sunday. With morning and afternoon shifts. You must be able to work weekends (12 hour shifts Saturday and Sunday once a month) and may be required to work additional hours and public holidays.

You will bring experience in Security and strong communication skills and the ability to communicate with people from a diverse range of cultures. You are comfortable with administrative tasks and role model great customer service. This is no desk job you are part of the team and are hands

Previous experience in Security is essential and a NZ National Certificate in Security to minimum level 2 and a current Certificate of Approval (Security License) is required. You must hold and maintain a current, valid, full NZ Driver's License. Excellent verbal and written English language skills are essential as is a good level of fitness with the ability to do mobile and foot patrols. A current First Aid certificate is desirable.
