About ARL


ARL is a high throughput agricultural laboratory which is responsible for the analysis of 100,000 samples per year across soil, plant, water, feed quality and fertiliser.

To achieve this our team work with state-of-the-art instrumentation, a high degree of automation alongside modern analytical techniques.

About the Role:


The Technical Manager for ARL is responsible for overseeing and managing the technical operations of the laboratory, ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of testing processes.

This role involves leadership, technical expertise and collaboration with a team of laboratory professionals to deliver high-quality testing services.

This role will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement, maintaining regulatory compliance, project management and fostering a culture of safety and excellence within the laboratory.

A key part to this role is that you will be required to maintain IANZ accreditation to comply with all

ISO:
IEC 17025 standards. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining good customer relationships and delivering timely and accurate results. This role also include participation in recruitment, assessing and implementing in meeting laboratory KPI's.

To be successful in this role you will ideally possess:

  • Excellent collaboration and customer service skills.
  • Excellent training and development skills.
  • Exceptional technical expertise.
  • Excellent computer Skills.
  • Experience in LIMS and ERP systems.

Ideal Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in a relevant scientific field.
  • Over 5 years of experience in laboratory testing, with a proven track record of leadership and the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of laboratory professionals.
  • Experience working in a research environment or commercial lab environment with indepth knowledge of testing methodologies, techniques, and instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with analytical testing in the agricultural industry is desirable.
