Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do

Our Office of the Deputy Director General (ODDG) is responsible for providing advice and support to the Deputy Director-General and the Senior Leadership Team in ERI.

We support, maintain, and improve the delivery of quality written advice and work programmes, enabling the directorate to effectively function.


In this role you will:

- contribute to delivering key pieces of work for the directorate with oversight and support from the Manager, ODDG

  • Gather/research information and provide advice, guidance and support to the Manager ODDG, including the preparation and review of documents
  • Coordinate the machinery of Government functions across the directorate
  • Act as coordination point for information requests from the Office of the Deputy Director-General
- support the development and continuous improvement of processes and tools within the Office of the Deputy Director-General and the wider Directorate.

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster good relationships
- an understanding of the machinery of Government work and priorities, including Te Tiriti and Equity

  • Previous experience in business support and business improvement processes
