We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Butcher to join our team in Petone, Lower Hutt. As a Butcher, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and preparation of our meat products. If you have the necessary qualifications and industry experience, we invite you to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cut meat products according to customer specifications
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of meat products to maintain freshness and quality
- Operate machinery and tools, such as knives, mincers, slicers and the band saw in a safe and efficient manner
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction
Requirements:
- New Zealand Level 4 trade certification in Butchery or equivalent international qualification or 3 years relevant industry experience
- Proficiency in cutting and preparing different types of meat
- Strong knowledge of meat quality, cuts, and processing techniques
- Excellent knife skills and the ability to operate butchery machinery
- Good communication skills and the ability to provide exceptional customer service
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced environment
- Knowledge food safety regulations related to meat processing
