What you'll be doing:


In the role of Release Manager, you will be accountable for ensuring that our ICT releases are successfully planned, scheduled and executed, managing and minimising the disruption of services to the business and customers through careful planning of releases without any unintended impact to systems.

Releases will be successfully deployed within the deployment timeframe.

The overall aim to protect the production environment through detailed release planning and coordination. The Release Manager provides guidance and support to Project Managers and ensures processes are adhered to. Release work in scope is predominantly software releases but does include some infrastructural level releases.

You will be working with project teams and ICT support providers from project inception through until solutions are in BAU operation.

What you'll bring to the table:

  • Deployment, Migration, Upgrade, Patching & Integrated Release Planning across the Chorus Technology Stack.
  • Non-Production Environment & Production Implementation Planning, tailoring plans to scope & domains.
  • Integration & system dependency identification.
  • Change Control, Ownership & Change Management facilitation including Technical & Change Advisory Board representation.
  • Change & Release Conflict Analysis / Identification via integrated change schedules with our various technology partners
  • Facilitating the technical implementation walkthrough sessions. Liaison with Chorus NPE, facilitating releases through NPE
  • Release Risk & Mitigation Management
  • Release Communications to Event Management, Service Integration and key stakeholders.
  • Install Support Teams engagements & booking
  • Implementation Facilitation for all environments
  • Chorus test, preproduction and production
  • Post Implementation Review facilitation. Release Process Improvements
  • Tech Ops, Configuration, Problem & Incident Management Support.

To be successful in this role you will have skills and experience in:

  • Significant IT experience including Release Management (3 or more years) and technical leadership.
  • Project coordination or Project management experience.
  • Broad understanding and experience of Enterprise and Telco ICT business functions, associated technologies and software development life cycle management.
  • Experience in managing and negotiating with project teams and 3rd party service delivery organisations to achieve delivery outcomes.
  • Knowledge of Agile development and delivery processes.
  • Academic qualifications in the ICT or Management field, or
  • Industry qualifications and/or experience in Release Management and ITIL best practices.
