  • Located in the heart of the Waikato's dairying region, our Waitoa UHT site is one of our newest sites and is renowned for producing fortified UHT milk and cream products destined for growing markets in China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan and Guatemala. During peak milk season our Waitoa UHT plant processes up to 400,000 litres of milk per day

In this crucial role you'll be a key member of our maintenance team responsible for maintenance services across our automated, high-speed manufacturing & packing equipment & other site utilities.

You will provide mechanical support to the production teams and will use your solid problem-solving skills to efficiently fault find and repair breakdowns with confidence.

Reporting to our Maintenance Team Leader, some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Accountable for completing all associated work information (e.g. failure cause, tasks performed, spares used, time required, etc)
  • Responsible for quality and completion of assigned work
  • Attend breakdowns as per the site Priority Matrix, and when an item is not a breakdown advise operations personnel of alternatives and potentially the need for a work request to be raised
  • Undertake to resolve machinery faults and problem solving in a timely and effective manner
  • Proactively participate in maintenance & equipment strategy improvement initiatives, and daily management requirements.
This role operates on a rostered shift pattern, so work life balance is a given.

This is a busy role, so you'll need to be a confident problem solver, have excellent attention to detail and be self-motivated to succeed.

Your key to success in this role will be your passion for problem solving and fault finding.

Other skills you'll bring are:

  • Relevant Trade Certification
  • Proven Maintenance background
  • Strong problem solving and faultfinding skills, and the ability to think on your feet
  • Good communication skills and strong computer literacy
  • Experience in working in a manufacturing plant (FMCG or Food) would be beneficial, but not essential.
  • ERWB registration would be advantageous but not necessary
