This important role will Support the Risk Manager Controls Assurance and Support and the wider Line 1 Risk Team to execute control design activities and uplift in line with the control testing program for the Business, Consumer, Life, People and Culture, Finance and Strategy and Transformation business units at SNZ.


Success in this role will be ensuring regular control testing is completed to a high quality and in a timely manner in collaboration with the wider team and control owners.


What you'll do:

  • Lead uplift of 1Lod control outcomes reporting
  • Lead identification of new controls and support the uplift required to meet incoming regulatory change programs.
  • Ensure design and operational effectiveness testing is completed in a timely manner and to a high quality.
  • Coach and support the Assurance Analyst to complete control design testing assigned to them.
  • Support control uplift initiatives including control design improvements and regular design effectiveness testing.
  • Work closely with the Risk Advisory team to meet control testing deliverables.
  • Support the Risk Advisory team to complete risk activities in line with Risk Management Frameworks.
  • Coach the wider Risk Advisory Team on changing control testing Group requirements.

What you'll bring:

  • 5+ years' experience in legal, risk or compliance management in the financial services sector essential.
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of insurance risk management and control processes and tools from working in the financial services or insurance industry.
  • Audit experience desired.
  • Commitment to creating great customer experiences and delivering high quality solutions.
  • Ability to provide sound advice, guidance, oversight, and challenge to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes effectively.
