Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi - About the Role
Develop and implement innovative direct marketing engagement activities and initiatives. Work directly with potential future learners and their influencers. Recruit and transition learners to Ara Institute of Canterbury Ltd. through the promotion of Ara and its programmes.


The Youth and Community Development Representative will be responsible for delivering engagement activity as agreed to by the Youth and Community Development team which generates quality leads for Ara through a range of innovative direct engagement activities with schools and community groups to influence the growth in enrolment numbers for Ara.

  • Understanding of NZ Education System preferred
  • Experience working with Youth
  • Excellent communication skills, including:
  • Public speaking and presenting to diverse groups, large and small
  • Sound interpersonal communication face to face situations, excellent listening skills
  • Effective sales and negotiation skills
  • Written communication skills
  • Relating professionally to a wide range of others organisations, managers, colleagues, a variety of people of all ages, backgrounds, interests
  • Proven organisational and planning skills, including the ability to take multiple tasks through to completion
  • Excellent time management
  • Competent in administration and the ability to keep accurate records
  • Adhere to budget usage and financial guidelines
  • Proven analytical and problemsolving skills
