AE SMITH, a division of Spotless NZ Group, delivers technical and engineering services covering mechanical services, energy efficiency and building services solutions throughout New Zealand.

The role of Southern Region Operations Manager (Mechanical/HVAC) is primarily responsible for:

Leading the safe execution of all mechanical work within the region that ensures the safety of personnel through the implementation of the Downer Zero Harm framework.

Full P&L accountability for all Mechanical Service and Construction contracts with the region
Retention and growth of existing customers through reliable operational delivery and service
Leading the implementation of a fully integrated mechanical service offering within the commercial building services markets across New Zealand
Active promotion of a mechanical service and construction offering
Establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with other Business Managers.

Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills

Tertiary Qualification in Project Management, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or Business Management or post graduate qualifications is preferred.
Experience in senior management / capability in a similar business environment
Ability to proactively build relationships with key stakeholders /clients, peers and colleagues.
Detailed understanding of the commercial building services markets and competitive landscape.
Extensive experience in the management of integrated service and construction contracts
Proven leadership skills, coaching and mentoring of teams to drive success.
Identify strategies, build business plans and initiatives to deliver growth outcomes.
