Safety Advisor to help promote and foster a progressive safety culture across our Lion New Zealand Head Office, Sales, Marketing and Hospitality functions.

As a member of the wider Safety team, this role will help to achieve our safety roadmap by working closely with leaders and teams to deliver strategies and initiatives that engage our people and make Lion a safer place to work.

This role is available on a permanent, full-time basis and is based out of our brand new Fanshawe Office in Auckland with hybrid working options available.

The Role

  • Partner your business areas helping to create safe operating environments, ensuring Leaders understand their safety accountability and have the capability and means to fulfil it.
  • Ensure robust safety governance through effective implementation of safety systems and processes to keep everyone safe every day.
  • Support the implementation of mental and emotional wellbeing initiatives and programmes.
  • Monitor and report on safety performance and compliance in order to maintain a comprehensive oversight and ensure countermeasures are put in place as needed.
  • Champion continuous improvement and develop and embed our safety systems

About You
Bring your safety background in any industry, as well as

  • Confidence in engaging with team members and leaders at all levels and building positive relationships
  • Demonstrated experience business partnering stakeholders of various levels, engaging them a progressive safety culture
  • Deep knowledge of Work Health & Safety and Workers Compensation legislation, including compliance and governance is preferred
  • An independent thinker with the ability to clearly articulate complex safety systems, risks and opportunities
  • Experience working with an ACC accredited employer program would set you up for success in this role
