About the Role


Under the supervision of the Senior Medical Affairs Manager, the Medical Science Liaison - Vaccines will utilize their medical and technical knowledge to engage with external experts, healthcare professionals, and scientific researchers through scientific discussions, management of projects, and clinical trials to support GSK in achieving its goals.

This Auckland-based MSL position involves significant national travel.


As a crucial member of the close-knit Vaccine team, you will share expertise with the medical affairs, brand, clinical development, and internal business teams such as regulatory, strategic development, marketing, and sales.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Interacting responsibly, following MA guidelines and GSK policies, with healthcare professionals and key stakeholders
  • Delivering scientific presentations to internal and external audiences on diseases or products, when necessary
  • Assisting in the submission and preparation of publications and presentations for medical/scientific events and peer-reviewed journals
  • Addressing requests for medical and scientific information in a comprehensive, timely, and customer-centric manner
  • Organizing and overseeing Scientific Advisory Board meetings to facilitate knowledge sharing, enhance external expert relationships, provide input for clinical development needs, ensure scientific comprehension, and establish advocacy
  • Creating and executing a robust External Expert engagement strategy using various channels to offer a personalized omnichannel experience for customers

  • PhD in Virology or a related field is preferred
  • Background in Science, Pharmacy, or Medicine
  • Minimum of two years experience as a Medical Science Liaison in the field is preferred
